In addition to being selected to compete in Bravo TV’s popular Top Chef competition, Marisa was named “one of the top pastry chefs” in San Francisco by the San Francisco Chronicle. She is also a California Culinary Academy graduate and spent time at the Culinary Institute of America. Her recipes have been featured in Food & Wine, Bon Appetite, and People Magazine. Most recently, she has published a new cookbook Sweet & Skinny: 100 recipes for Enjoying Life’s Sweeter Side without Tipping the Scales.
While competing on Top Chef, Marisa baked up a sublime low-fat chocolate fudge cake. Her dessert was a huge success and later featured in Food & Wine. Here, Marisa shares the winning chocolate cake recipe as well as her favorite cookies and strawberry shortcake.
